Norma Joyce Scholarship

She was a resilient woman who immigrated from Jamaica to Canada carrying little more than determination, faith, and an unshakable commitment to service. Navigating the challenges of settlement, systemic barriers, and cultural transition, she carved out a place for herself within Alberta’s health industry—a space that demanded strength, endurance, and courage. Despite facing adversity, she remained steadfast in her purpose. Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience, the impact of service, and the profound difference one woman can make when she chooses to help others, even while overcoming her own challenges. She is lovingly remembered by her children, grand-children, and great grand- children.

Award is for up to $2,500

Neville R. Reid Scholarship

He was a natural leader—steadfast, principled, and deeply rooted in his Jamaican identity. A proud nationalist, he believed in the strength, resilience, and brilliance of his people, and he carried that belief into every space he occupied. His passion for Jamaica was not symbolic; it was lived through service, advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to uplifting his community. His leadership was grounded in integrity, cultural pride, and a clear vision for collective progress. To know him was to feel inspired, to stand taller, give more, and remember where you come from. CBMN is honouring his legacy with this Scholarship Award for Black Youth. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, sister, brother, and his son.

Award is for up to $2,500
